Bamboo Basket Chinese Restaurant is the latest addition to the vibrant riverfront dining and entertainment precinct, Wharfside.

By Car

If you are travelling to or from Brisbane city, follow Kingsford Smith Drive along the Brisbane River, past Racecourse Road and turn right into Harbour Road. Coming from from the Airport Portside Wharf is just 7 kilometres from the Domestic and International Airports – accessed along Kingsford Smith Drive. For those travelling from the Gold or Sunshine Coasts Portside Wharf  is ideally locateed close to the Gateway Motorway, giving you easy access to both the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coasts.

Bamboo Basket’s signature dish is Xiao Long Bao 小笼包. These delicate soup-filled dumplings are Shanghai’s most famous cuisine. Skilfully prepared, they are a carefully constructed miracle. They are made with seemingly delicate, semi-transparent dumpling skins, wrapped and neatly pleated around an aromatic filling of pork and a mouthful of hot savoury soup broth. The fillings, usually pork, are traditionally seasoned with a little ginger and shaoxing wine, and mixed with pork stock that melts on cooking, transforming into a delicious soup. The addition of crab meat and crab roe makes for a rich but equally traditional Xiao Long Bao.
